AIDS Treatment mnemonic or Anti retroviral therapy mnemonic

Anti retroviral therapy mnemonic according to WHO 2013 guidelines mnemonic

ART for adults(Here adult means age more than 10 or weight more than 35 kg) mnemonic

TEL

T=Tenofovir
E=Efavirenz
L=Lamivudine

For pregnant and lactating women ART guideline is same as adult that is regimen is TEL.

For children who are below 10 years of age
We divide them in 2 groups

1.below 3 years of age ..
2.above 3 years of age but below 10 years..

For below 3 year regimen is ALL is well..

A=Abacavir
L=Lamivudine
L=LPV/r(LPV=Lopinavir, r=ritonavir)

For children above 3 years regimen is ELA.

E= efavirenz
L= lamivudine
A= abacavir
